Is that significant? Are we merely to assume it is Jehovah sitting upon the throne? Who else could it be? Besides, Ezekiel all but names Jehovah as the rider, describing the one enthroned this way: “And upon the likeness of the throne there was a likeness of someone in appearance like an earthling man upon it, up above. It was there in Babylon, by the river Chebar, where Ezekiel saw in vision the awesome, heavenly chariot as it emerged from the roiling, fiery storm clouds to the north.īut as regards the rider of the chariot it is noteworthy that nowhere is he specially identified as Jehovah himself. You might say that the temple and priests and the Jews who worshipped in Jerusalem made up the visible part of Jehovah’s organization.īorn into a priestly family in Judea, Ezekiel, whose name means “God strengthens,” would have served at the temple in Jerusalem had he not been taken into exile to Babylon, along with King Jehoiachin and others of the upper class. God even miraculously caused his invisible presence to be manifested within the Most Holy compartment in the phenomena called the Shekinah light.

Originally, through Moses God had organized a system of worship centered around a portable tabernacle, and later a magnificent stone temple built upon the highest pinnacle of Jerusalem, where Jehovah decreed he would establish his earthly presence. When Ezekiel was originally commissioned by Jehovah to serve as a watchman the city of Jerusalem was the only place on the entire earth where God had attached his holy name. And it is the responsibility of every publisher-card-possessing Jehovah’s Witness to keep pace with the invisible chariot as it moves this way and that above the earth.īut what does Ezekiel’s rapturous vision of the chariot ultimately represent? Is it merely an in descript, invisible organization in heaven that God presides over, which directs the affairs of God’s servants on earth, as the Watchtower has taught since 1929? In fact, it is presumed that the leadership of the earthly, visible organization (so-called), is somehow in lockstep with the colossal celestial chariot with its immense, revolving wheels within wheels with rims full of eyes flashing lightning, glowing electrum strange and wonderful multi-headed living creatures with four wings, and its gloriously enthroned rider above the sparkling chrysolite. The article reinforces the belief among Jehovah’s Witnesses that the visible and the invisible are inseparably linked. Here's a simple example.The April 2013, Watchtower Magazine carries an article with the scriptural title: “Make Sure of the More Important Things,” which tangentially invokes the vision of Ezekiel regarding the extraterrestrial chariot – the intent being, to impress upon Jehovah’s Witnesses the reality of the existence of “the invisible part of Jehovah’s organization.”

I plan to submit this to WFR once I flush out more details like handling boundaries differently, always preserving topology, and an optional bias to simplify planar regions less. The function, decimateMesh, takes in a mesh and the number of vertices to contract from the mesh. For this I implemented a bare-bones (pun intended) version of the algorithm presented in Surface Simplification Using Quadric Error Metrics, Garland et.al. The aesthetic I was after called for low-polygon meshes, so the next task was to simplify the meshes from AnatomyData. Obtaining the 3D anatomical data was quite easy. The images listed on OpenSea have a few extra details and nuances that I'll gloss over in this post. I'll walk through a simple example of rendering a gold skull with glowing eyes. The aesthetic is low-polygon, metallic, glowing, and a touch of a vaporwave color scheme. This collection contains images of various anatomical systems of human, horse, and dog - all obtained through AnatomyData. I recently joined in the fun of making an NFT and created the art set 'Electrum Anatomy'.
